A study that lived in four tools

Briefs in documents, fieldwork in spreadsheets, decisions in chat. We followed how a study actually moves through the firm, then built one place to run it.

Challenge

A study started in a document, moved to a spreadsheet for fieldwork, got decided in chat and approved by email. Asking where one stood took two people, and their answers did not always agree. None of it was broken. All of it was slow.

Approach

We followed one study from brief to final report and wrote down every handover. That map became a clickable prototype, so the team could argue about what was missing before anything was built. The build then went out in phases, each one live.

Outcome

Where a study stands is a screen instead of a question. Twelve studies now run in the same shape, so a new researcher learns one process rather than four tools.

A real engagement, retold under NDA. The client, the sector detail, the screens and every figure are changed.
